Compton, Calif. – The Compton baseball team's 2-0 win over Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday April 11, 2023 marked head coach Shannon B. Williams' 250th career win.

Williams earned his 220th win on March 16, 2019, over Chaffey College, which marked his place in the record books as school's all-time winningest coach. He currently is in his 20th season and continues to provide stability to the baseball program and continues to change students' lives in the Compton College community and surrounding areas. At the conclusion of the game no one knew of this milestone as Coach Williams didn't want to overshadow the team win and  great pitching performance of Julian Berinti who threw a complete game shutout.

"I have been very blessed to have opportunity to help so many players find their path in life through baseball and academics." Williams said. "This moment wasn't about me getting the 250th win, but to see how excited the team was after the game, this great game of baseball provides unbelievable life lessons for our young men."

Congratulations to Coach Williams for his two decades of achievements and success leading the Compton baseball program.
