CCCBCA Home Run 30 Rankings Debut, West Valley At #1
With the start of the 2026 California Community College baseball season this past weekend, the CCCBCA unveils its first Home Run 30 Rankings.
Last year's 3C2A state runner-up, West Valley College tops the first state ranking. The Vikings won their first two contests over American River and after trips to the final four in each of the last two seasons, they are hoping this is the year they might win it all. The North Region hasn't had a state champion since San Joaquin Delta in 2018.
At #2, Cypress, winners of five state crowns in 1991, 1994, 1997, 2003 and 2013, figure to be in the hunt after making to to the final four last year. The Chargers won their season opener over Pasadena City.
Fresno City comes in at #3 and the Rams opened the year with a bang by sweeping defending state champ Mt. San Antonio in a 2-game series. Fresno is also a 5-time state champ, winning the title in 1961-1963, 1972 and 1992.
Respect is earned and that's why Mt. SAC is ranked #4 after its fairytale trip to the 2025 state championship, the third by the school but first in a remarkable 60 years.
Sierra advanced to last year's state tourney and the Wolverines are off to a 2-0 start, posting wins over Cosumnes River and Laney. Sierra won its only state crown in 2008.
The rest of the Top 10 is made up of #6 Riverside City, #7 Santa Rosa, #8 Glendale, #9 Palomar and #10 Ohlone.
