RPI Drives Home Run 30 Rankings #12, Santa Ana New No. 1; Modesto Bolts To No. 9
While the 48-team field (24 for each region) for the 2026 postseason will be decided on a number of factors, the RPI rating has become the ultimate in sorting teams from top to bottom.
This week's CCCBCA Home Run 30 Rankings (April 6-12) reflects directly off the current ratings as Santa Ana College has overtaken new No. 2 Fresno City for the No. 1 ranking.
As FCC remains the North's top team, the rest of the top 10 include #3 Palomar, Santa Rosa JC climbing to #4, Ohlone at #5, San Joaquin Delta rising to #6, El Camino dropping a bit to #7, Riverside City up to #8, Modesto JC taking a jet up seven spots to #9, and Citrus rising three positions to #10.
The biggest leap came from #16 Saddleback, up a whopping 14 slots, West Valley up eight spots to #17, and #12 Allan Hancock stepping it up five ladder rungs.
New to this week's ranking are #23 Sierra, #26 San Mateo, #28 Sequoias, and #30 Golden West. Dropping off are four teams including former #21 Antelope Valley and #24 Cerritos.
The Orange Empire Conference has seven teams ranked topped by SAC, Riverside, #11 Cypress, Saddleback, #21 Orange Coast, #24 Fullerton, and GWC. The Big 8 has six teams ranked in SRJC, Delta, MJC, #19 Sacramento City, Sierra, and #25 Folsom Lake.
It's an even 15-15 split for the two regions.
